Abstract: The article discusses fragments of works of classics of Danish and Swedish literature, historians and moralists L. Holberg and О. Dalin, devoted to the murder of Tsar Fyodor Borisovich Godunov in June 1605. The author establishes the circle of European sources attracted by Scandinavian authors, Russian, Danish and Swedish interpretations of the event are compared, the choice of Holberg and Dalin’s version of what happened in Moscow is explained.
