Abstract: The collective work is dedicated to the most popular old printed collection in old Russia of the 17th century under the title Prologue, which included more than 2,000 literary plots.
The monographic study examines the prologic editions and their links with the cultural and political conditions of the 17th century. A description of the Prolog content is attached to the study.

Abstract: The collective monograph is devoted to the old book prefaces and afterwords as a comprehensive source on the history of literature, social thought, book science and philology in Russia in the 16th – 17th centuries. The monograph summarizes observations about 1000 prefaces and afterwords to old printed and handwritten Russian, as well as Belarusian, Ukrainian and Polish books of the 11th – the beginning of the 18th centuries. The list of prefaces and epilogues to the Russian old-print publications from 1564 to 1700 and a photo-typical reproduction of the unique work of the Russian printer in 1613 are attached in the monograph.
