Abstract: This book is intended for those humanities by education or in spirit who experience literary impressions from reading Old Russian literature and feel the need to explain them, penetrating the spiritual world of distant authors. An art critic of medieval texts, an evidence-based assessment of our impressions, which turns into a strict science, can help. The monograph focuses on the work of A.A. Potebnja and V.V. Vinogradov, with their subtle understanding of form as a phenomenon of the linguistic and semantic structure of the literary image, but resorts to its working terms, to the following triad of phenomena: form – image – world relation. The most important thing in the book is the characteristic of Old Russian texts.
