The article examines the consideration of the ideological, thematic and artistic originality of the Sermon from the Apostolic Acts to Christ-loving Christians by Moscow Metropolitan Alexy. The most important and defining theme of this work is the apostolic ministry of the shepherd for the benefit of the flock entrusted to him, as well as instruction on the path of Christians and his responsibility to his flock, as Metropolitan Alexy continues the educational work of the apostles and fathers of the church. Particular motives can be identified from this topic: comprehension of the word of God, knowledge of God; relationships between Christians, relationships between flock and clergy; fear of God and keeping the commandments; fair trial in relation to subordinate people; the churching of a person, etc. In his work, Metropolitan Alexy acts as a church speaker, so the means of artistic expression should be considered from this perspective. To implement the above motives, author resorts to using a wide range of artistic and expressive means and syntactic devices (metaphors, comparisons, epithets, rhetorical questions, expressive syntax, etc.), quotations from the Holy Scriptures to confirm his thoughts, as well as the use of parables and appeals to listeners (readers).
